Tapping

LOL 😆  I'm watching some ASL signing videos and the hosts have mentioned how to signal for Deaf people's attention. Waving, tapping and lights are the usual methods.

Speaking for myself, tapping tends to startle me, since I'm by myself 80% of the time.

Good morning. I've got a lot on my mind.

Signing one-handed in the rain last week was enough to kick-start my Deaf brain into gear again. I'm recalling signs I haven't used in YEARS! 

*PAH* (that means success!) 

This has given me ideas - festival interpreting. Up on the stage, with the band, interpreting the songs for the Deaf folx in the crowds.  I used to do this in Karaoke bars for crying out loud.

Happy

I'm happy I haven't lost my ability to sign - even sloppily, one-handed, in the rain. It's not something I can proclaim just anywhere, and expect encouragement or acclaim, right? Still glad I took that course decades ago, even if I only use it for myself.
