A protracted battle with my on screen keyboard has recently convinced me of the superiority of physical keyboard when composing text for anything longer than an email.
I shall not answer the siren call of the Clicks Communicator; I have a Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard if I really need it!

I'd been considering getting back into coding for a while. Reading Reddit threads and doing a little investigating about Claude Code, ChatGPT & other local LLM, I thought it would be possible to have an AI teach me/help me to code.
If I'm understanding this correctly, I would need a separate, powerful GPU in order to get actual benefit from using an agent. This PC doesn't have one of those, just an Intel IC.
Oh, well. Guess I'll do it the old fashioned way. 📚

Over breakfast, my partner & I were discussing subconscious masking, AKA autistic defence mechanisms. Identifying triggers and then taking steps to deal with stimuli, etc.
A couple of times my partner has witnessed my "freezing" due to inaction, it's like my brain just checks out: "Nope, not doing this"; it was a subconscious reaction to a situation I felt was beyond my control.
I've gotten BETTER at mindfulness, it's something that is definitely learned. I know better now how to quiet my mind when it's agitated. It's like I needed to learn how I was doing something I wasn't aware I was doing? Odd.
Here's the thing, I sweat a lot. I run HOT. My partner always said my body feels like standing next to a furnace. Having said that, I've never owned a pair of 2 functioning hearing aids before, much less IP rated. Both are Bluetooth enabled, which means I get to switch them out for listening to media. As it stands, I keep the older pair next to my PC and use those while working out in my gym. The newer pair's home is on my dresser next to my wallet & watch.
My Xbox wireless headset recently stopped working. They've had a good run. I stupidly used them for sweaty outdoor cardio when I first got them; the foam pads have been replaced twice already, tape is holding the microphone together since the plastic shell cracked. I attempted the 2 button reset but to no avail, I think this time they're really cooked, as the kids say. Ah well. I don't think I'll replace them straight away. I may try alternating between hearing aids.
However, I have been wanting to try those Pixel Bud "A" series. If they can put up with excessive sweating, they'll join me on my walkabouts instead.

I was the kid in Elementary school tapping on an Apple ][; My second language was BASIC (although CoCo flavoured). I don't like where tech is these days so I'm mostly hanging out with FOSS software.
This is really a post about Apple's launch of their folding iPhone they've dubbed the "Duo". They couldn't even come up with an original name for a folding phone - Microsoft already had that with their Surface Duo. The company's soul died when Jobs did - all Tim Cook has done was the job he was hired to do - streamline their vertical hardware division and he's done exactly that. They run on their own silicon, hardware and their own software. Quality is a different matter when it comes to software, but most folks will agree their hardware is fine.
The cost of their new folding phone rounded up, is three thousand dollars Canadian. I can't justify that. I've always been a grubby, PC hardware hacking FOSS dude. I can appreciate great engineering but their hubris is disgusting.
Apple can go to hell.
